A Foundation of Ash (2016)

Stemming from travels to wildfire-ravaged regions in Fort McMurray, Alberta, and Kejimkujik, Nova Scotia, this body of work is a synthesis of ideas, experiences and stark environments that are central to my creative and subjective interests. Incorporating sculptural elements and staged compositions within the natural environment and studio, the themes of the images are broad-ranging, exploring aspects of destruction, solitude, support, wonder, transcendence and regeneration.
