How best to express the breakdown of political and societal fabric? My approach has been to slowly build subject matter, with the intent of then manufacturing its sudden undoing. These new images explore disintegration of handmade structures that function as support systems; decks, stages and scaffolding. Detonations destroy the platforms in short order and in spectacular fashion, echoing the shock and awe of a media world that’s entertaining us to death.
