My creative interests are varied. I go through periods of working on larger projects that involve photography, sculpture, and live action elements. They sometimes require a great deal of planning, grant writing and legwork before they can happen and as such are rewarding if they work out. Other times I just like to be in the studio exploring. For me, painting and drawing is a more intuitive and primal way of making, so as a creative process it is liberating. During the last decade I have worked intermittently on birch panels, a mylar-like material called Grafix drafting film, and canvas tarps as substrates, each having their own unique qualities. While some of the works are plainly non-representational, others contain seeds of familiar things, so they are more suggestive than descriptive in nature.
